"...What do you mean by 'too perfect'? What way do you not like thinking? Do you mean 'paranoid' thinking...? Is it unfounded to take precautions?"

Maybe she was drilling him a bit too much with questions, but her mind hungered for clarity, for answers - so she pried, bright green eyes wide and exploring her father's face for answers.

"I will discuss that with your mother, Ancile," he smiles- patting her head. "In the end- both you and Akane-san shouldn't be involved in our matters unless strictly necessary."

[kuonkeeper]

"...Should I not also be privy to potential threats to her or myself? What if I fail from lack of foresight or preparedness...?" Ancile asked, wilting like a sad underwatered plant.

Takuto keeps caressing her head, smiling turning just the bit awkward with the way she wilts.

So many questions...

"That would fall on our shoulders. Not yours," he corrects. "That said...do you want to train with him?"

"...I did want to, to some degree... I thought it might be best to get experience fighting shadows and getting stronger to protect my family..." Ancile admitted a little sheepishly. "Should I not? Do you think it would be wrong to do so?"

"..."

There's no way walking around it. He's paranoid of this whole situation, despite the fact that he was completely okay with having Ancile’s appearance touch Wolf's supposed dead heart but surely Hasegawa-san understood that too, right? He couldn't be softening up this easily...

Or maybe he could- if he and Hamuko were talking. He's pried long enough in her cognition to know he respects her words.

"There’s nothing wrong with it," he shakes his head. "It's a decent request to make."

"I might come with though. As your navi."

Oh-- to check, maybe. To see if he was 'paranoid'? Or to see if Ancile was doing a good job...!

"I will fight my best, then! I will make you proud."

There's also the fact that Ancile isn't a guest.

So she can be permanently disabled. Not dead. Not with him around but...

"That's my guardian!" Contrary to his thoughts, he cheerfully wraps his arms around her- pulling her close to his chest. "I want to see how well you do anyway."

Warm...! Ancile hugged him back, perking up at his words and his praise, ignorant to his double faced thoughts. "Okay! Then we'll prepare to go on one of his 'Tartarus runs' together one night?"

"Sure," Takuto says easily. The idea of whether or not he will be there in person is a different point.

"We can take our time with it though...I am still a bit low on energy."

[kuonkeeper]

"Okay. I promise I'll wait for you," Ancile nodded into the hug before looking up and smiling at him. Dad wanted to see her do her job well...!
